How we maintain our own clients’ WordPress sites with Verploy

Verploy did not start as a product. It started as a problem in our own agency. We build and maintain WordPress sites for our clients: shops, associations, coaches, a campsite, and our own site. Every update round meant the same thing: update, open every site, click through the important pages, check the forms, and hope nothing broke in a place we did not look.

What it used to cost us

Updating by hand does not scale. With a handful of sites it is an evening. With dozens of sites it becomes a choice between spending hours checking, or postponing updates and living with the security risk. Neither is a good answer for a client who pays you to look after their site.

What we do now

Our client sites run on Verploy. Every night, every site gets a backup. Every pending update is checked. Themes, page builders, shops and major versions go to a test copy first, where pages are compared on desktop and mobile and forms and checkout are tested. Small, proven plugin updates go live directly with a backup, a check afterwards and an automatic rollback.

In the morning we open one inbox. It shows only what needs a person: a premium plugin whose licence is not active, a visual change to approve with one click, a site with a hosting problem. Everything else simply happened.

The honest numbers

Over 30 days up to 2 October 2026, on our own clients’ sites, 100 updates went live after passing every check, 90 were held back on the test copy without touching the live site, and 16 were rolled back automatically after going live. Many of those are moments where, without Verploy, a client might have called us first. We wrote about what those numbers taught us in our real numbers.

What we still do ourselves

  • Activate premium licences, or upload a ZIP when a plugin has no update channel.
  • Approve a visual change with one click when a design really changed on purpose.
  • Fix hosting problems Verploy points out, such as an old PHP version or too little disk space.

That is the work that needs a person. The rest, the checking, comparing and rolling back, no longer does.

Why we opened it up

If it saves our agency this much time, it can do the same for yours. That is why Verploy is open to every agency since 8 October, free on up to 3 sites. The first 30 agencies keep 40% off, for life.

Want to see it on your own sites? Start free on up to 3 sites, no credit card.
