2.38.0: an email when your update is live, one-click approval, faster runs, shorter maintenance

An email when your update is live. When you start an update yourself, you now get one email the moment it is live and checked, or when it was held back or rolled back. Webhooks receive the same event.

Approve with one click. Alerts that ask for your decision now carry a signed link: one click approves, without digging through the dashboard first.

Faster runs. Desktop and mobile are measured at the same time, and with short maintenance the live baseline runs while the test copy is being tested.

Shorter maintenance, per component. Each plugin or theme gets its own short maintenance window while it is installed and its styles are rebuilt, instead of one long window for the whole run. Short maintenance now also applies to sites without a data guard when nothing transactional runs on them.

Site problems found at night, before you click. The connection check now runs every night between 01:00 and 06:00 (Amsterdam) and also checks the PHP version and plugin licences, so a known problem shows on the site page before anyone starts an update.

Fewer false visual differences. Feeds, review widgets, counters, tickers and external embeds are masked automatically, and sliders are checked by height, so moving content does not read as a broken page.

Plugins bundled with your theme. With Verploy Connector 2.11, a plugin that ships inside your theme (via TGMPA or a ZIP in the theme folder) can be updated from the version your theme provides, so the “no download file” block no longer applies there. The connector is rolled out in stages, starting with our own sites.
