ManageWP alternative

A ManageWP alternative for WordPress agencies.

ManageWP runs updates on the live site and checks afterwards. Verploy tests risky updates on a private copy first, and includes backups, rollback, speed scores and reports on every plan.

No credit card. Every update is checked, and the risky ones are tested on a copy first.

Why agencies switch

Where the update workflows differ

ManageWP’s Safe Updates make a backup, run the update on the live site and then check the HTTP status and screenshots. Automatic restore on a 4xx or 5xx error is optional and needs the paid Backups add-on; a visual change is reviewed and restored by hand. A staging copy is possible, but by hand, with the Clone tool.

Because the checks happen after deployment, a detected problem may already be visible on the live site. Verploy turns the order around: for risky updates, the test happens on a copy first, and the live site is only touched when the checks pass.

The difference

What changes when you switch

Tested before live

Risky updates run on a temporary copy on your own server first. Review the pages checked on desktop and mobile and the supported form or checkout checks recorded in the run.

Rollback included

When post-update checks detect a regression, Verploy attempts to restore files and database from the pre-update snapshot. Review the recovery outcome. Rollback is included, without a separate add-on.

One price per plan

Plans are based on the number of sites and include every feature: backups, vulnerabilities, speed scores, findability, reports and alerts.

Fair about strengths

ManageWP has a free core for unlimited sites and a long track record. Its Safe Updates and backup workflow may already suit your agency. Compare that with Verploy’s risk-based test-copy workflow using the checks that matter to your own client sites.

  • Compare the results on your own sites, then decide
  • Remove the ManageWP Worker when you are ready

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Can I run Verploy and ManageWP side by side?

Yes. The Verploy Connector is a separate plugin. We recommend letting only one tool update a site automatically, so updates do not overlap.

Does Verploy have a free plan?

You can start free on up to 3 sites. After that, plans are based on the number of sites and include every feature. See pricing.
