Week 43 in review: PHP versions, silent form failures and proof in client reports
3 min readBy the Verploy team
Last week we shipped eleven releases, from 2.76 to 2.86. The common thread: fewer surprises for agencies. You now see which sites need a PHP update, you hear when a contact form quietly stops sending, and your client report shows what was tested before an update went live.
PHP: which sites need action
After the PHP vulnerabilities of 21 October, the first question was simple: which of my sites are affected? Since 2.77 the Sites list shows the PHP version of every website. Red means the version no longer gets security updates or misses the 21 October fixes; orange means support ends within six months. The filter “PHP action needed” gives you the list to send to your hosts. The judgement follows the reported version number, because some hosts backport fixes without changing it.
Forms that fail without anyone noticing
A contact form that stops sending email does not show an error. The client finds out weeks later, when the leads have dried up. Since 2.78, Verploy flags sites where two plugins both take over WordPress mail. With 2.84 and connector 2.22, it notices within minutes when a form cannot send its email, as far as it can see, with the name of the form and the error message, never the content. It works with Contact Form 7, Gravity Forms, WPForms, Fluent Forms, Ninja Forms and Elementor Forms.

Proof your clients can see
Maintenance is invisible when it goes well. Since 2.82, the client report shows under each update what was tested on a copy first: how many pages, at which screen sizes and how many checks passed, plus the home page before and after. With 2.86, WooCommerce sites also get orders, revenue and best-selling products in the report. And since 2.81, the Monday morning email lists every site with a theme risk, most serious first.
Less noise, more control
- Fewer emails (2.83). Set a maintenance window, and a site that drops out for a moment is only emailed about after an hour; short interruptions go to your morning email.
- Plugins and users on many sites at once (2.86). Install, activate or remove a plugin on a set of sites, and manage users per site. Sites get this with connector 2.23 through the normal rollout.
- An API key per site (2.80) with an expiry date, and a read-only AI connection that answers questions with evidence from your account (2.79).
- Verploy on your phone’s home screen (2.85).
This week
We keep working on reliability, and we are bringing verploy.com to the same ten languages as the app. The routine stays the same: every update is checked, and the risky ones are tested on a copy first. Every release appears on the changelog once it is live in the app.
