Restore a backup
How restoring a single site works, what stays in place, and what happens if the site does not work afterwards.
A restore only touches that one website: its files and its own database tables.
- Open the site’s backups and choose the backup to restore.
- Verploy checks how much space the restore needs against the free space you entered for that site. If there is not enough, the restore does not start.
- The backup is prepared next to the live site, then switched in one step.
- Verploy checks the homepage, the login page and WP Admin. If the site does not work, it automatically puts the previous state back.
wp-config.php, the Verploy Connector and the pairing with Verploy are left in place. Updates for that site wait while a restore is running.
Test first
Not sure a backup is complete? Run a restore test first; it does not touch the live site.
