Run a restore test
Prove that a backup can be restored, without touching the live site.
A restore test takes the latest backup, restores it next to the live site on the same hosting (files in a separate folder, database under a temporary prefix), counts whether every file and database row came back, and removes the copy again. Nothing is swapped and nothing goes live.
The result is shown next to the site’s backups: files, tables, size and duration, or what was missing.
Run one after the first backup of a new site, and again after big changes.
