The data guard: orders and form entries survive a rollback

Rolling back an update sounds simple: put the old version back. On a shop, it is not. Between the update and the rollback, customers may have placed orders. A naive rollback restores the old database and those orders are gone.

What the data guard does

On sites with the data guard, Verploy keeps track of orders and form entries made around an update. If the update is rolled back, those entries are kept. They are stored for seven days, so nothing slips through.

Shorter maintenance

With the data guard, the backup is taken before maintenance mode starts, and the full check runs on the public site after going live. Visitors only see the maintenance notice during the switch itself.

Why it matters for agencies

For a webshop client, a lost order is worse than a broken layout. The data guard makes it possible to roll back fast, without that trade-off.
