Automatic updates
Turn on automatic WordPress updates, safely.
WordPress can update plugins on its own, but it does not check what breaks. Verploy updates automatically on your terms: with rules you choose, tests on a copy for the risky ones, and a rollback if something still goes wrong.
No credit card. Every update is checked, and the risky ones are tested on a copy first.
How it works

How an update is checked, tested on a copy when it is risky, and held back or rolled back when something looks off.

The problem
Auto-updates without checks are a gamble
Leaving updates off means vulnerabilities stay open. Turning WordPress auto-updates on means a broken update reaches the live site without anyone looking. Most agencies end up updating by hand, every week, on every site.
Verploy gives you a middle way: automatic updates that are checked every time, with control over what goes automatically and what waits for you.
Your rules
Automatic, but on your terms
Smart update rules
Choose under Settings: only fix vulnerabilities automatically, wait a few days after a new version is released, or only update once a version has gone live without problems on other sites.
Ask first, by default
Out of the box Verploy asks before it updates. Turn on automatic updates per agency, and set “Never automatic” for sites that need extra care.
Staged across sites
Updating one plugin on all sites starts with one site, then two, then the rest. If an update breaks something, Verploy pauses and leaves the other sites untouched.
Test only, for big updates
For a major version jump, run the update on a test copy only, look at the screenshots before and after, and put it live with one click.
Every automatic update
What Verploy does on every run
- Checks the update against your rules and its risk (low, medium, high)
- Tests risky updates on a private copy of the site first
- Takes a snapshot right before going live
- Checks the live site after the update, and rolls back if something broke
Questions
Frequently asked questions
Is this the same as WordPress’s own auto-updates?
No. WordPress’s own auto-updates only step back when a plugin causes a fatal PHP error; they do not look at layouts, forms or checkout. Verploy checks every update, tests the risky ones on a copy first and rolls back if something breaks.
Can I exclude a site or a plugin?
Yes. Set a site to “Never automatic”, or use the update rules to only fix vulnerabilities automatically.
What happens with premium plugins without a licence?
Verploy tells you why the update is missing, for example “licence not active”, and offers to upload the new version as a ZIP, which then goes through the same safe route.
